Gigabyte P35 DS3L

Anybody with this board or any of the other vairants knows what happens when you try to set an FSB to high?



Do you have to clear the CMOS with the battery to reboot or will the system reboot with failsafe defaults after 20 seconds?

I've got the GA-P35C-DS3R OC'd to 3.7Ghz with 4Gb 1066 clocked at 4-4-4-12 @~820 in BIOS w/CPU at 1.4625v runs at ~55c under Orthos CPU/Blend test. Sitting around 20c at idle on power up. Going to try for 3.8Ghz tonight for an overnight run of ~12hrs Orthos and if it's stable may shoot for 3.9Ghz and leave it at that (30% gain). But seems to be stable so far! First time OC'ing so I'm new to this, asking questions and doing a bit of reading here. I've read that OC'ing w/4Gb memory tends to be more tenuous vs 2Gb (and in most folks sigs I see 2Gb). Running the E6850 C2D on it. I was told my board was supposed to be good for between 400-500Mhz on FSB. Sitting at 411 currently.

I'd check your CPU idle temp with Coretemp. 20C idle when cold is 15C lower than the norm. Your room is not 5C, correct?

The CPU cannot run at a lower temp than the room temp. The nominal idle temp for C2D is 10 to 15C higher than room temp.

Hi, I am not up on my farenheit to celcius conversions (been quite awhile...). CoreTemp shows it at 28c right now and I just finished playing some Guild Wars for about an hour and a half to two hours. My ambient temp in the room is ~75F atm. Intel TAT shows 28/29 for core temps. I am back to 3.708Ghz @ 412 FSB and 4-4-4-12 memory timings, CPU voltage is at 1.4625v.
