Since it seems the Asus A8N-E won't be released for a long time (if at all), I looked at other nForce4 (non-SLI) options. The Gigabyte nForce4 Ultra boards look nice (the K8NXP-9 and K8N Ultra-9). A Gigabyte representative told me the only difference between the XP-9 and Ultra-9 is that the XP-9 includes a wireless-G PCI card and DPS module. But the website photos show that the Ultra-9 has a passive heatsink as opposed to a fan for the XP-9. When I build, I plan to overclock slightly, if at all. So would a passive HS be a problem regarding heat? And for those with nForce 4X and SLI boards, is the fan fast/noisy like the A8N-SLI's? Finally, when do you expect them to be available (the rep said in 1-2 weeks; do you think this is realistic?)

And while I'm at it, when should the Antec TruePower 2.0 be available? Would the dual 12V rails be a problem?

Thank you.

My plans for my system are:

Case: Antec P160 (already purchased)
PSU: ? (looking at TP 2.0; if it's no good then I'll look at enermax/forton alternatives)
MB: Gigabyte K8N*-9 (or ASUS A8N-E if it comes out)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000 (90nm) + retail HS/F
RAM: Value 2x512 Crucial/Corsair/Kingston
Video: Leadtek 6600GT (PCI-E)
I will use my current HDs/optical drives/monitor/KB/mouse. As you can see, I am on a budget

If you plan on going with a SATA drive, or a RAID array, you're probably going to need a floppy drive. I couldn't install windows without one.
