I have 4 sticks of ram
2x512 DDR400
2x1 DDR400

When I popped in the pieces initially bio confirmed 3gigs of ram. After rebooting my computer, it thinks there is 2 gigs. As though it's missing one piece of one channel. How do I proceed?

The 2x512 are in the same channel as is the case for the 2x1gig

Look for something in bios, in the memory section as to Memory Hole, and enable it.

usually mobo's that are dual-channel capable dont like to use memory when there is only 3 slots filled up. has to be using single or pairs only.
