Setup :
AMD 3000+ (939) --not OCed--
Giga K8NF-9
512 x 2 (OCZ)
WD 120G (ATA)
WD 160G (SATA)
SLK2650bqe (using included PS)
Basic Stock cooling, which means 1 rear case fan (included with case).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During boot, rigth after Main Processor, I see the following error message :
cpu:eek:ff 0 patch id:0041
See a pic : http://pages.infinit.net/accord/tt.JPG

Anyone know what it means? And how to deal with it..
Google wasnt of any help..

Now I just noticed my cpu is running at 1005mhz (and not 1800mhz).. :(

Hi,

Everything on the pic you included seem to be fine - I have the same POST screen as yours.

About your CPU speed: Just download CPU-Z and take a screenshot for us if you can't figure it out. ;)

As far as i am aware that is not an error ... that is just the Motherboard bios reporting some of your CPU information. Your PC should boot up fine.

Here's what I get:

A couple of things seem wrong, the voltage (should be 1.4) and the Multiplier (should be 9x)..

Hmm, I wonder..

Damn it, I think I found the problem..

AMD's Cool'n'Quiet. <---- Made my blood pressure rise!

When I running CPU intensive app such as ATITOOL (for which I dearly thank NAVID), the multiplier goes up to 9x and the voltage moves up to 1.4.. And cpu clock speed gets to 1810..

Conclusion Cool'n'Quiet is doing its thing, right?
I hope so..

But I still dont get how at idle my CPU(25°) is only 4°C above room temperature(21°) (regardless of monitoring software). Is Cool'n'Quiet that effective?

blodhi74 & LanMaster, thank you for your help!

Trente : you've brought quiet to the storm twice already. I really appreciate it.
I also hope you stick around this board to save my @ss a few more times.. :p

Yes, it looks like C'n'Q is indeed causing this.

About the temps: well, I got a 3200+ running at stock speed and i'm getting a bit higher results. but it depends on your cooling (yours may be better than mine), the intensity of the programs you are running (try Prime 95 and the temps will jump) and even the weather in your area...
Overall, your temp results seem reasonable to me.

Glad to be of service! :)
