Gigabyte/Hercules Radeon 9700 Pros vs ATI original

Are there any differences among them other than driver set and PCB? I mean, are they clocked the same(core/memory), use the same core/memory chips and perform/overclock the same? What about signal quality(aka 2D image quality) I'm wondering if I should skimp and get a cheaper Gigabyte/Hercules instead of the original ATI?
