I upgraded my HTPC video card from an 8800GT to this beauty. Wow, what a gem... This has been my first ATI card since the 9600 Pro and I am really digging it. It has been ages since I have seen the Catalyst Control Center and in many ways I really like the setup for it.
Out of the box I was able to clock this thing at 950Mhz Core, and 5400Mhz memory. Ran a bunch of games that I already had installed on my HTPC and they ran beautifully.
I chose this card based solely on power consumption. I was going to go for a 460GTX, but when I looked at the power connector requirement, I was dissapointed to see two external power pins. I am convinced that the 460 GTX is one of the best cards out there today, but perhaps not for an HTPC setup. I suppose that depends though, on many factors.
So far a positive experience with ATI.
And there is no reason that RED and GREEN can't be under the same tree... It reminds me of Christmas all over again.
