Gigabyte HD 6850 OC temps

Hi, I just finished my new PC with GigaByte HD 6850 OC card. I would like to ask, in CCC I see my GPU has 40 degrees celsius with fan set to 48% speed in idle.

In this setting, the card fan is actually little loud. its louder than my previous 8800GT card. BUT:

My 8800GT runs with fan in idle around 30% with temps about 67 degrees celsius. I think even if my 6850 fan was set to 20% the temps would be lower and card could not be heard.

So, my questions are, please, anyone with same graphics, are my temps and fan speed all right in terms you have similiar? 40 degrees at 48% idle?

And, more general question, is HD6850 im danger in higher temps that CCC is holding it around 40 ? I mean, I can ovveride fan control and let it set lower, but there seems to be no diferent setting for idle and stress, so if I set it to 30% in idle I worry that it would be too low for stress.

I just have to add, that I have AC Silentium T11 case with 2 F12 fans. Its not the best cooled case, but I thing its not worst either.

my card does 36% fan speed 42 C on my 6850.

my old 4850 did 50% fan speed 55c

this temp is normal, u can lower fan speed if u want but not that much lower, my cooler on my 6850 is so quiet theres no need to even lower fan speed for me, i was actually thinking of overclocking and raising it haha

I know Windforce is great, I like it too. I just find it too loud, and before I start considering BIOS flash I just want to know its normal for this card, you know, to eliminate other problems like drivers etc....
