Gigabyte H61 mobo, does it support SLI or Crossfire?

For sure H61 does not support SLI.

Crossfire it might support, because the Radeon drivers doesn't seem to care as long as the cards are hooked up. That board layout is not optimal, however, with the second slot on the bottom.

As ZAP said crossfire might work. But the 4x goes through the southbridge so you would lose some performance with that.

Why get a H chipset if not using the intel graphics?

Either wait for the Z68 or get a P67 board

You can't see it on the Microcenter pics, but the Newegg pics let you zoom in, and there is a "CrossfireX" logo stenciled onto the board. So it does support Crossfire.

You're right that it's not idea, being that one is x16 and one is x4. Hearkens back to the bad old days of Crossfire on P35 mobos.
