I've been having the worst times with my Gigabyte GTX460 1GB OC card, and using the HDMI output.
The card has a mini-HDMI connector socket on it. The card included an HDMI-to-mini-HDMI adaptor, which is kinda kludgy.
I've had problems with signal drop-off (screen goes blank) in the past, and it has only gotten worse.
Now, even wiggling the connector, I can't seem to get signal. Or rather, can't seem to get signal in Windows 7. I can hit the power or reset button to POST, and I get signal (POST displays over HDMI). But then when it's about to go into Windows, it goes black.
I've tried both the newest WHQL as well as the 280.26 WHQL (currently installed).
Sometimes, when it recognizes the HDMI, it doesn't recognize the correct resolution, and the taskbar is cut off on the bottom. When that happens, changing resolution down to 1680x1050, and then back to 1920x1200 seems to fix it.
Although, last time I tried changing down to 1680x1050, the screen turned fuzzy purple. (Could my card be going, or could that be a glitch with the HDMI output?)
Right now, I plugged the card back in via DVI, and it's problem-free as far as I can tell. I just don't get audio out of my monitor.
