How would this compare to EVGA, BFG, etc....quality wise? Personal experiences?

EVGA 280 @ $305 after $20 MIR

These dropped last week, some as low as $285 after MIR I believe. If you think that's low, you're going to kick yourself for missing some GTX 280s this weekend for ~$200.

I'd say the price drops are probably due to the impending launch of the GTX 285 later this week rather than the high-end GTX 295. GTX 285 is expected to launch at $350 with incremental increases in price from factory OC'd models.

Wow, guys...

Been so darn busy trying to make MB decsion that I haven't been watching vid card prices...
So, these dropping prices will continue... makes sense to me.

Looking like I'm going to get the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DQ6 MB...first non-Asus MB for me in @ 10 yrs or so I believe.

How 'bout my question about quality of various vendor's vid cards...I saw ZAP's comments about BFG...logical, and my current 8800GTS(g80) is a BFG. ...

Thoughts?

(edit)... At Newegg, I only saw "system builder" version of Vista Ultimate 64bit...does that
mean I have to be a licensed sys builder to get that OS price??

System builder is basically an OEM copy. No fancy hard plastic case.

A licensed system builder? Don't think there is such a thing.
A system builder is anyone who had built, well, a system.

Oh and you have to provide support to the end user if you buy a "system builder" copy.
If you are the end user, then you are all covered. :)

:)

The other difference is that with the more expensive retail version, you can activate it as many times as you like provided that it is only activated on one machine at a time. The OEM version license is supposed to be tied to a single machine. In reality, MS will most likely allow you to re-activate the OEM version as well, but they might get touchy if you do it too many times.

SO, that means as the "system builder" I have to provide support to me as the "end user"...
Oh boy, that means that the end-user in this circumstance is SCREWED!!

Hello, fellow Canuck. We won't be seeing any price cuts anytime soon I don't think. I looked at an EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 and they wanted $382.99 + tax. Asolutely rediculous!
