Hello there I just bought this GIGABYTE Geforce 6600GT GV-NX66T128VP video card when it arrived I put it in my new system listed below on my sig. After testing the card specs with 3 programs 3dmark 2005 pro, Everest, and the one that came with the card V-Tuner2(plus) all of them show this card as having a 300 Mhz core clock!! This card is advertised and confirmed by Gigabyte that its supposed to have a 500 Mhz Core CLock. So we flashed the bios of the card making it the most current f2 bios. We tried with the drivers that came on the cd with the card and also tried with the latest Nvidia drivers 81.98. we Upgraded there Vtuner2(plus) although it was already the lastest version they wanted to make sure. All still report this card as having a 300 Mhz core clock. Might anyone know why, or if there is something I can do to make sure that im not missing somehting here. The serial number on the card makes it a 6600GT not a 6600 or a 6600le wich believe both have 300 mhz core clock.. but all three programs are showing this card has a 1120 memory clock so I am just baffled.. any ideas?

hi, you can exchange it for another since thats wierd or manually clock it to 500Mhz since thats what it should be and its not overclocking since its setting it to the right speed. if you want you can talk to gigabyte's tech support and ask them why and what they think you should do

Sounds like they are reading the 2D clock speed instead of the 3D clock speed.

Most modern cards throttle back in 2D mode.

Coincidentally, a 6600GT usually runs at 300 in 2D mode.

My guess is that your card is fine and always was.
