gigabyte ga7zx problems

i just put together my friends t-bird 1100,but he got the gigabyte mb.we have two problems

1. creative tnt2 freezes in any game

2. idle temp is around 55c???at one point was 65c???

it came with the original heatsink/fan.everything was put together upon arrival from mwave(barebones kit).i've tried every nvidia and creative driver,every 4in1,and every setting in the bios(driving ea,da....etc)1x,2x,4x.what is the normal temp?and what about the video card freeze?
 
which rev motherboard are you using? I have had major problems with rev 1.0 GA7 ZX but the new rev (1.01) works fine. My Athlon 900 runs at around 40 degrees.
 
What operating system are you using? I could not get my TNT2 card running on the Gigabyte ZX1 using Windows 98, but I did get it to run using Windows ME, without loading any VIA drivers or TNT2 drivers, just the supplied in ME drivers that loaded. I borrowed a friends Voodoo3 3000 card and it worked with both Win98 and WinME.
