Short story
If you have a Gigabyte Z87 board with an early BIOS and are having problems definitely try to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version.

Long story
I recently picked up a Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H to go with my 4770k I picked up during the recent Microcenter hot deal. I've built a quite a few systems over the last 20 years and not one gave me anything close to the problems of this one. Constant reboots, memory crash dump blue screen errors, freezes and lockups, just terrible. It would actually sit there idle on the desktop and then reboot.

I was ready to return the motherboard but I decided to upgrade the BIOS, "just to see." The current Gigabyte bios revision was F6 and I flashed it to F8. Now it's only been about 5 hours, but what a difference. Not one problem. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that it really was just a bad BIOS that was giving me all those problems.

Hi Hulk,

I've just bought this motherboard and also experiencing many problems (it even fails to boot many times).

Did the BIOS upgrade solved all problems for you at the end?

Best,
Vasili
