Couple of questions/issues

1. Sleep mode, for some reason my PC wakes up within 15-30 min of going to sleep. I just updated the Bios to F8.

Have the following Bios options set
PME Event Wake up: Disabled
Resume by Alarm: Disabled
Power on by Ring: Disabled
ACPI suspend type: S3/STR

Any clue?

2. Memory timings. I have Patriot memory is rated at 1.65Volts, I set all the timings manually and changed it to 1600 (as per my memory). The question is, I read that changing the Memory voltage should be raised above 1.5V and regardless if I set it to 1600, it will default to 1333???

I guess the big question is, does it even matter if I change Voltage of Memory Speed at all? Most say performance benefits are minimal at best and it's not worth the risk of changing the voltage.

3. is it worth running the hard drive in none IDE mode? This would require me to reinstall windows on AHCI/Raid mode. From what I gather performance differences are minimal at best.

4. I noticed my 2500k runs at 1600mhz and goes up when needed. I believe this is due to # of things:
-Windows Power Management settings set to balanced. High Performance setting makes it run at full clock
- C1E bios setting
- EIST bios setting

Does any of these really matter? From research I've done power consumption savings are significant with minimal hit on performance (if any).

Any reason why I should disable these and run at High Performance?

Thanks in advance!!!

I assume you use Windows 7 64 OS...
1. I have always avoided windows hibernation.
2. I chose profile1 and bios sets my rams correctly to 1886 (I have 8gb total of Patriot Extreme Viper 1866) without manually tweaking any thing else.
3. I use AHCI mode.
4. That's normal.

My HTPC rig: GB-Z68XP-UD3, 8GB (1866), 2500k @ 4.2ghz, 460's in SLI.

How do you like your 460s in SLI?

I'm about to upgrade to that today.

I've seen benchmarks that were better than 580GTX

I used to have a dog GTX480 in it.
I then went to a major upgrade, newer mobo, new cpu, new rams, and of course two 460's.
Go for it 'cause the 460 is cheap, it costs me $280 for a pair.
It beats my old 480 by a pretty wide margin, not too sure on 580?
