Does the Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 support unlock functionality of 2500k?

the online shop where I buy my stuff says it doesn't but I'm skeptical that's true.

How did you come up with that? Looking at the manual for that motherboard, which you obviously didn't bother to look at, the BIOS certainly does allow overclocking on unlocked "K" chips.

Care to show where it says it doesn't support OC'ing?

This is taken directly from the mb's manual (starting on page 34):

2-3 MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)

This section provides information on the BIOS version, CPU base clock, CPU frequency, memory frequency, total memory size , CPU temperature, Vcore, and memory voltage.

CPU Clock Ratio
Allows you to alter the clock ratio for the installed CPU. The adjustable range is dependent on the CPU being installed.

Sure sounds like overclocking to me.....the BIOS is just like the one on my Z68X-UD3H motherboard does. Same exact BIOS which allows OC'ing.

And this from Gigabyte's page for the motherboard:

Introduction
Combining the advantages of the Intel® P67 and H67 platforms in one complete package, the GIGABYTE Z68 series offer the best of both worlds; users can take advantage of the system tuning and overclocking features found in the Intel® P67 platform as well as the built-in visual features of the H67 platforms when combined with 2nd generation Intel® Core ™ processors.

Again, sure sounds like it supports OC'ing like all other Z68 boards. So, where is it said it doesn't support it?

He won't be able to prove it. Just posting without any education about what he is saying.. Good way to drive up the post count though....
