Hi everyone, I am upgrading my computer and am debating on whether or not to give my wife my GA-X58A-UD3R and i7 950 CPU with 12GB of memory or sell it and buy her an i5. She barely uses her computer other than MS Office and I hate to think that, that good hardware is worth more now than later. Also, would do you think it would be wise to part it out or sell it with everything including a Corsair H100?

Your thoughts?

You can part it out, but easier to auction if off whole & less chance of returns..

Part it out = More money

Sell it whole = Less hassle

I usually part things out myself, as it lets me put fixed prices on the stuff I know the value of, but auction off the stuff I'm trying to determine market value for.

Do ya'll think that selling the i7 stuff and replacing it with something more basic for my wife is a good idea. I don't want to lose a ton of money or spend a lot more for my wife's computer but also if x58 boards are going for good money now I'm willing to part with it

Okay well I upgraded my computer and am still considering selling my motherboard, 12gb of ram and an i7 950 CPU. Anyone have an idea what it's worth on this board? I'd rather sell here than ebay as well.

Sell her computer, put your old parts into a real pretty new case. Girls like pretty cases.

They like tiny cases too... I think? Anyways, my suggestion is the Gigabyte Brix Haswell i3 "U" CPU in their projector model, that's a current Hot Deal in the sub-forum and at Newegg.

$289.99 with "free" 4GB RAM and 64GB SSD. Don't have to use the projector feature.
