GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX

It's going for $230 on newegg. Other X48 (like those from ASUS) seem to be more expensive than the GA-X48-DS4.

I've heard of video corruption problems with the NVIDIA 7xx series, and I get the impression NVIDIA are in bed with AMD these days (which is a downside because I'm getting an Intel Wolfdale). How do these boards compare with the X38/X48 ones?

Here are the other components I'm getting:
-8 gigs of DDR2 1000
-wolfdale 3 ghz
-9800 gts (just one, don't care about SLI)

Thanks for any suggestions!

If you really want X48 then this board seems to be a no brainer. If you want to save some more cash, then I recommend the GA-EX38-DS4. It is basically the same exact board with the X38 chip.

What do you get for the ~$70 more the GA-X48-DQ6 costs? From the specifications on newegg, it looks like 2 more USB ports, which don't seem to justify the extra price 🙂

Basically two extra SATA ports powered by the JMicron controller. Both boards have the same number of USB ports on the backplane and header pins. The DQ6 does feature the "QuadBios" vs the DS4's "dualbios" if that matters.
