I'm considering purchasing a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 motherboard and would like to put 8GB (2 x 4GB) of 1600 memory in it. When I looked at Gigabytes QVL for memory (Corsair), I noticed two things that confuse me.

1) They don't list any 4GB modules. Everything is in 1GB or 2GB modules.

2) Some of the Corsair 1600 memory listed for this board is Triple Channel. Why would they list triple channel memory for a board that supports Dual Channel memory?

I noticed this about ASUS as well. I wouldn't worry about the model for the most part. Just don't buy junk RAM and you'll probably be fine.

FYI, there is no such thing as "triple channel" memory or "dual channel" memory, it's exactly the same DDR just marketed to be sold in sets of 2 or 3.

I originally was considering the Asus P8P67 Pro board, but I've ready several review detailing problems, especially with memory. There seems to be issues with all brands of these boards. Is it too early to purchase a P67 motherboad now or are the problems more related to user installation/configuration errors rather than buggy boards?

i think the majority of the problems arise from over clocking issues. looks like they boot fine till you start messing with things. at least that is what i am seeing
