GIGABYTE GA-P67A REBOOT LOOP issue

What is the error code on the display on the motherboard?

Mine was caused, as far as I could tell, by having an extra standoff between the motherboard and the case. Once I removed that, the reboot looping stopped. Mine is the p67a-ud7.

Check this video , and the description of this video.

It could possibly help.

The only two sites that review PSU that deal with the +5VSB parameter that I know of is jonnyguru.com and hardocp

Just thought I'd give you another avenue of investigation. You would need an ocilliscope of course to see what happens from trickle to "on" and I wouldnt even know where to tap the 5VSB. Since you are way more into this than me, maybe you could look at this .

Edit:
ooops!! I have no idea how that "voltage sure boot" came into my mind
Heh heh - circuit overload

Thats a very good video and you obviously have great technical knowledge.

However, my take on this is slightly different. I think its all about the +5VSB (Voltage sure boot). This voltage has a rise time and amperage and a target 5V. Some PSU have 1.5 amp rating, some 2.0 amp, some only achieve 4.7V in actual usage.

It's not "voltage sure boot". It's "Voltage, Standby". It's for powering the RAM (and optionally, the USB and PS/2 ports) when the system is otherwise powered-down.
