Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 fan headers

I don't know if this is common or not, but after a few frustrating runs with some 92mm PWM fans in my Antec Solo and the mobo I finally figured out that the SYS_FAN header is not PWM. It is a 4 pin header but the 4th pin is actually reserved, so the PWM function is not active & fans run at full speed on it.

Guess I should have read the manual closer. It seems that it does cause confusion with others as well as I read a lot of posts on the web from owners trying to control fans with the BIOS which only controls the CPU_FAN header.

Why would Gigabyte put a 4 pin header and not make it PWM? I ended up getting some Nexus 92mm fans which are fairly quiet even running at 12v, but may just pick up a fan controller to turn them down a bit.

Thanks, Bill

At the GIGABYTE EP35C-DS3R
Both CPU_FAN & SYS_FAN2 are 4 pin and PWM .

But funny enough the manual shows, that the SYS_FAN2 gets powered with 5 volts instead of 12V.
