Can this board use DDR 800 speed ram? It seems to have a different standard...

Im very intrested in info on this board too. I just noticed it on newegg today. I was planning on buying the P35-DS3R. But this board is 35 bucks cheaper. It looks like the only real difference is the audio chipset and 4 less Sata. I dont care about that crap since i will be using an X-FI sound card and only use 2 sata hard drives and a sata DVD. So 4 sata ports is enough for me.

If anyone knows if there are any other differences please let me know!

Good looking board with printer port. If board runs cool and overclock as well as the Abit IP35-E, then I may jump in. Oh yes, it better not double post during cold boot!

BTW, this not a full-sized ATX board. The power section looks a tad weak. Probably a 420 to 440MHz board. Thanks OP for putting this on my radar.

Ok, it looks like the differences between this board and the GA-P35-DS3R/P are:

4 SATA ports instead of 8
No RAID
ALC888 vs. ALC889A
No Ultra Durable 2, Ultra Cooling
No 6-Phase Power

Looks like the 'D' stands for durable, which means all solid caps on the DS3L but probably not on the S3L, no low RDS(on) mosfets, no ferrite chokes.

Memory range is the same.

It's full ATX:

Incorrect. You need to look at the mounting holes on the MB. It's a little shorter than a full-size ATX board.

what do you mean when you say the power section looks weak? is that referring to the 4-phase instead of 6-phase power regulation? wouldn't that make it the same as the IP35-E, or are there other factors to look at?

i'm interested in the DS3L, the solid capacitor version, which for some reason is $5 cheaper than the S3L on Newegg. should be the same, besides the caps, right?

no. of phases alone isn't an indicator of quality.
