if you dont need Firewire support, just go for the DS3R. Its about $20-30 cheaper. Also, if you need firewire, you can always get an add-on card which should cost less than $20.

I am planning on using this board or the c version in a new build with a 6750 and was wondering if this memory < Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)> would be a good choice if I wanted to oc the 6750.

thanks

Wow, pretty much I was going to get the exact same setup for my friend except the mobo is a DS3R. So yeah, I think it would be decent RAM. Get it at ZipZoomFly instead, though. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...sp?ProductCode=80061-9

Any cold boot issues that I have heard a few discuss recently?

nope ... but one of the sticks is bad :|
--this is the second time this has happened ... last time Crucial had one good and one bad stick ... can't get a pair

Cold boot issue is start-stop-start again. This seems to happen only when you are overclocking. Similar to the false start on the asus P5B series earlier this year that got fixed with BIOS update. It just adds about 14 seconds to the boot time. Both the IP35 and Gigabyte P35 boards seem to have this. Haven't heard of it yet on the P5K, but it's not detrimental to the performance of the system.

well, if there is no power to the MB while my rig is off, it will start and then restart a second later ... i think it is the USB power draw. My old ASrock MB would add 75 seconds to the startup if your USB peripherals were not externally powered

my GA-P35-DS3R has no problem. But my friend's similar same setup with GA-P35-DS3R has cold boot problem. Anyone has any suggestions besides RMA?

Same here! I had to RMA my ram back because one of my chips would cause my computer to freeze and give a BSOD. Was running 1GB for a while and just decided that since I payed for two chips, I should utilize two chips. The hard part now is waiting for it to ship back while using my system I supposely replaced. :(
