I do not understand it, but My mic sounds like CRAP -static, barely hear able with +30 boost...

I have VISTA 64bit.
I have the latest drivers.
I have tested with different mics, with the same issue.

It used to work on XP I assume...but I went and played TF2 for the first time since VISTA and it sounds like crap!

Thoughts?

EDIT : ventrilo works OK apparantly...but ingame TF2, or other games it sounds horrid. Can I change the codec at which I speak? Or is it all server side?
 
Hey Vivi, I had this problem and I couldn't figure it out, so I ended up bypassing the sound card altogether and and got a USB microphone. (Logitech USB Mic). You can try and see if its something in the Control Panel's sound section, but If that were the case, I don't think Ventrilo would work either.
