I just received rev. 1.0 of this motherboard from MWave and was wondering about the differences between it and the 1.1 version. I found this on the Gigabyte website:
"What is the difference between motherboard Revision 1.0 and 1.1?
The difference between motherboard revision 1.0 and 1.1 is the cooling system design. Revision 1.1 has a modified layout structure reinforcing the overall construction of cooling design to improve quality. When the product is used under same conditions, the thermal performance and system compatibility between revision 1.0 and 1.1 are the same."
I'm trying to read between the (marketing) lines here and figure out why exactly they changed the cooling system and if there's anything else that has changed.

Does anyone know the effect of this new smaller Silent-Pipe in rev. 1.1? They claim the cooling is the same either way, but what have the practical results been?
Is it possible to ask a vendor (in this case, MWave) to replace my 1.0 with a 1.1? Can they even do that? Is it worth the trouble?
