So i had a windows related problem (long story...) and decided to open up my PC. I reapplied thermal paste to the northbridge and CPU as well as tried an oc with SLI and no SLI. No luck. I can get the computer to post at 2.79 GHz and that's it. So it looks like it's the board. I'm not complaining though. It's serving me well; albeit not as a good overclocker fro a quad. I'm just running everything at stock (except the video cards) and when those beautiful DFI x38-T2R boards come sub 200 dollars I'm getting one of those and I'll probably turn this board into a media server or media PC. Yes, i did try the FSB VTT although it's called something else on this board. Sadly it can only be bumped to sub 2 volts which may or may not be the quad OC problem but i'm no longer giving this board anymore of my time. TOO MUCH to do.

My experience with this board, is with a E4300, all ok.
This week arrive my new Quad CPU (Q6600), so i'm going to start a new "game" with my mobo.

Good luck with your quad oc endeavors on this board. Let us know how it turns out. I'm especially curious. I have the same board (rev.1), CPU (Q6600) and i couldn't get past. 2.79. Let us know!

The new Cpu, is a Q6600 B3 ...

Ok, with the preliminary tests, i can't go higher than 305 Mhz fsb stable, 333 boot, but windows doesn't start.
Right now, it's running at 2700 (9x300) with 1.13 volts, so i think the chip can do a lot better.
Maybe in the weekend i'll do more tests.

I'll keep you update 😉

Hmm, a fair amount then ,seems these don't o/c well with quads then, did you raise the FSB VTT? (don't know Gigabytes name for it).

yes, i raised everything, but still windows doesn't start past 312 Mhz.

Hello, Has anyone tried the GA-N650SLI-DS4 F8F BIOS. If so, is it anygood for overclocking. Also has anyone used the mobo with a GTX260 and have you ran into any problems in regards to performance. I bought a GTX260 but it seems to be under performing for some reason. Maybe it's my cpu which is a E6300 oc to 2450mhz or do I need a bigger PSU. My current one is a Corsair 520w.
