Motherboard and Operating Systems

Ubuntu 7.04 - Live CD
- Installs VESA driver, mistakes onboard 690G as ATI x1200, instead of ATI x1250.
- Restricted ATI driver does not install according to instructions, used 'Envy' installer to install driver correctly. Installing ATI driver loses DVD playback function in Totem.
- Sound works but not stereo or High def
- Recognizes 64 x2 5000+ correctly

Ubuntu 7.10, Tribe 5 - Live CD
- Installs VESA driver, update to ATI restricted driver correctly with some modifications.
- Still loses DVD playback in Totem with restricted drivers.
- Sound does not work

Windows XP 64bit with SP2
- Correctly identifies CPU, video, audio
- Must have SATA drivers downloaded and ready when installing WinXP Pro as a fresh installation and using RAID.
- Installing SP2 after installing Gigabyte drivers will remove the Gigabyte drivers
- 17 reboots counted in just installing OS, SP2, Gigabyte drivers, and one pass of Windows Update.
- BSOD when playing with Dolby Digital output buttons on the RealTek Audio Configuration console.
