I recently built a new computer with a Gigabyte GA-M61PM-S2 motherboard, and installed windows 7 64 bit. All the device drivers got installed correctly (or so it seemed), but I'm having network issues.
When I plug in the network cable, it eventually fails out saying local connection only. I am not getting assigned an IP by DHCP, but if I browse the network I can connect to local computers and transfer files. I have 2 other computers on this network that get DHCP addresses just fine.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
If you need more info, please let me know.
EDIT: I should note that I tried an Ubuntu Live CD, and it was able to connect to the network. Looks like a compatibility issue with Windows 7 then I guess? Gigabyte does provide windows vista 64bit drivers for this board, so I assumed windows 7 should work too.
