Does the Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M motherboard support the AMD Sempron 64 2600+ Palermo 800MHz FSB Socket 754 Processor Model SDA2600BXBOX processor? The Gigabyte webpage mentions that the motherboard supports the AMD Sempron 2600+(D0 Ver.)(90nm,L2 Cache 128KB) processor, but I'm not entirely positive that the two processors are equivalent.

Yes, all socket 754 motherboards that support any Sempron's will support all socket 754 semprons.

I would email gigabyte and be sure the board will post with the sempron 64. It may need a bios update before installation. It's an "e" series cpu.

The 64-bit enabled Semprons are a newer silicon stepping than the others (E6). The board's BIOS needs to be updated to support that; the board hardware goes unchanged.

Try this CPU support list:

GA-K8VM800M (Rev 1.x and 2.x)

Make sure to grab the latest BIOS and you should be good to go.
