Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI and Zalman CNPS7000Cu

Hi,
I've had my Zalman for a while, but just got a new motherboard, the Gigabyte SLI. I'm having problems fitting the cooler onto the motherboard, because the plastic backplate supplied with the motherboard uses plastic push pins for connection with the heatsink retention mechanism.

My cooler comes with "nipples" to screw into the backplate, however since the backplate is designed to connect using push pins, the holes are too big. So I'm guessing I probably need a new backplate.

Anyone else run into this problem and have another solution?

Thanks,
Adrian

Hmm, that sucks. What's the best way to go about doing that? I have a feeling Zalman tech support is going to be impossible to deal with. I emailed them about it.

On their website, it seems like the newer version of my cooler, the 7000B, comes with the backplate, so it would just be a matter of getting ahold of that.

From what I've heard (really take it FWIW) they have excellent tech support. You should be able to get Zalman to send you a backplate, if not, they'd probably refer you to some online store that supplies 'em.
