Welcome to the Forums Sk8Joe01 :) Here's a thread that might help shed light on the GA-K8NS Pro: link

It kinda turned me off because they jammed stuff on the PCI bus when they could've taken advantage of the chipset's built-in capabilities. I'm going to wait for something a little different. See what you think. :)

Thanks for the advice. I looked at it and liked that there was lots on the IDE, that way i can overclock my processor and not have to worry about screwing up divices on SATA... maybe i'm wrong. Does this chipset allow the SATA to be locked as well as the northbridge?

And this isn't really about computers, but its great to see other believers puttin stuf in their posts about Jesus. Rock on man!!

Thanks for the encouragement :sun:

The nForce3 250 chipsets reportedly hold their AGP and PCI buses on-spec no matter what you do to the CPU's clocking, so unless the companies find a creative way to defeat that, it should be a good OC candidate. Some models are evidently allowing multiplier adjustment too! :Q Let the good times roll... :D

yeah, other boards hold the PCI and AGP to, but i'm gonna be running more than the four divices supported the IDE channel on most boards, so unless is voltage lockes the SATA as well, i'm likeing the the 8 divices on the IDE... less there is something big i'm overlooking here...

I just put this together with an Athlon64 3000+ last night. Overclocks fine to 215fsb using 1x512mb buffalo pc3700 bh-5. All I changed was the ram voltage to 2.8 and the FSB. I left the AGP speed locked. When I get home I am going to try to use the secret menu in the bios, ctrl+f1, to adjust the ram. I am putting in 2x512mb of Corsair XMS PC4000 in tonight. I am also curious if clockgen can work. So far the system has been perfectly stable.

not such a secret menu now is it? yeah, i'm putting an Athlon 64 2800+ in mine (if i get the board at all), i think i'm gonna use one stick of Buffalo 512 ddr pc3200 with it.

anyone know if this chipset is supposed to be able to voltage lock the SATA?? does this board do it??

Thanks for all the help
