New rig specs:
Above mb
E5200
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 (PC2 8800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI
Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
WD 36.7 gb Raptor
ASUS EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4870 Dark Knight 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready video card
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC.
X-FI sound card.

It has to be a bios setting. It will load the files but when it goes to load XP I get BSOD saying, "If this is the first time... reboot. Try disabling bios cache or shadowing. Try a different video card..."
A couple of times I get an "overclock warning" box over the bios. I have everything on auto and it's like at an 8X multipilier instead of 12.5 x 200. I have my memory at 777 20 @ 1.8 ( should go 555 15 @ 2.00) cpu voltage is 1.26. Temps are good at 36c cpu, 39c case ('cause of that hot ass Radeon).

I've tried switching memory slots, pcie video card slots (even video cards). Disconnecting drives one at a time.
Maybe I sould hook up a usb floppy and run memtest.
Thots?

What should my bios setting s be set at?

Tia :)

Is your memory on Auto? If it is change it to manual and set the timings and voltage yourself.

Yeah, I've done that. I've set to 555 15 @ 2.0v but no joy.

You have the controller set to Native IDE in the BIOS?

Try disabling all periperhals (Audio, Lan, etc.) in the BIOS during install.

Roger to the IDE.
I'll try disabling...
The usb Floppy Mem test didn't work but then again it was ver. 3.0. Don't know if that'll work with XP or not.
I'll give your advice a try.
Thanks.

This is the error message. Keep in mind this occurs after windows xp files have been loaded and is preparing to install XP 32 bit.

A problem has been detected and windoz shut down to prevent damage...
If this is the first time...reboot.
Happens again, check adequate disk space. It there is a driver identified ( course there isn't nothings been install ed yet). Check for bios update, etc. Hit F8 for safe mode ( how? os isn't even installed.
Important part here:
Technical Information.

Does your install disc have SP1 or SP2 slipstreamed in? Believe that may be the fix here.

Yep. Motherboards with PCI-E 2.0 require a version of XP to be SP2 or later in order to install, otherwise you get a BSOD in PCI.SYS.

Yep, you guys nailed it. I tried loading my daughters XP SP3 and it loaded fine.
Now I just need to slipstream my sp2 cd with my xp or maybe go for NE's deals on vista 64 bit w/freecoupon for 7 upgrade.

Thanks for the help!
