Why didn't you first browse Gigabyte's support page and find out that there does not seem to be BIOS support for the chip?

Pentium 4's are almost all listed as "N/A", in which case I would not have put the CPU into the socket.

(Note) This motherboard is designed with VRD11.1 power phase, and cannot be compatible with VRD10 designed CPU. Please refer to "CPU Support List" for details.

I warned people about that in my post on the motherboards forum some months ago. P45-chipset boards no longer support the older 775 pentiums.

BSOD error (video adapter) when installing xp and kybrd and mouse do not function outside of bios.

its a dud

Which Pentium D proc did you try this board with?

I viewed your link and according to GB, a Pentium D 805 (and up) cpu is supported. I've got a Pentium D 925 which I'm looking to use with a P35/P45 mobo. Will I have any issues with my "late model" Pentium D procs? I now see the "NA" in the last colume. Why even list the cpus if they're not supported!! It's VERY misleading!

Looks like I'll need a P35 mobo if I want to use this Pentium D 925 proc. I guess that will be okay. The P45 aren't much better than the P35. Other than "officially" supporting 400 MHz FSB (1600 quad pumped), the P35 should OC just about as well as a P45...correct?

Looks like a GB P35 mobo such as the GA-EP35-DS3L would work for me (~$85/shipped). It supports both P925 and Wolfdale procs (up to a Q9550).

Thanks,

Bud

because if they don't list them it indicates they weren't tested, and people would just figure "eh, it probably works" and try it anyways. Usually the "compatibility lists" are very short and very non inclusive, containing only a few tested items out of the many that work. (especially for ram)
