Clearly the 'P' has much better cooling, but what else?

The R just confuses me.

I don't want dual graphics, but will likely want to oc my Q6600 at some stage in the future...

Any assistance on this matter is much appreciated

EDIT: Are there any equivalent Asus boards at similar prices?

How are the Asus P5Q-Pro or P5QL-E?

Seems like Gigabyte don't have a great reputation doing some further reading, and Asus has always treated me very well...I HATE unstable computers and boot issues of all kinds :|

They are very similar. the DS3 doesnt have raid. DS3P has a heat pipe cooling, and there are a different number of PCI/PCI-e slots otherwise very similar.

Asus also have comparison charts.

Any idea how they compare on the overclocking side of things?

Are Asus a better bet regarding bios support?

I just picked up a GA-EP45-DS3L. Didn't need Raid, Crossfire, or Firewire. Board has been rock solid with my E8400. Fooled around with OC a little bit. Ran at 3.8GHz (423x9), with no problems at all. Lots of new and additional CPU, MCH, and memory settings and timings added, over the P35 version. So far I'm very happy with the board, and the price I got it for...
