I'm interested in a BIOS update because of
an old problem. I finally got that Theater 550 Pro card installed in another system, with an nForce2 chipset. I recorded 6 hours of TV with no problems whatsoever (no corruption, no glitches, no timestamp problems), whereas it would show severe corruption in less than an hour on the GA-965P-DS3.
There have been 3 new BIOS revisions put out since that problem, but also new drivers for the Theater 550 Pro. I can't find a changelog for those drivers
Renethx - good idea. I actually hadn't thought to do that.
Well, go figure. I downloaded the F12 BIOS for the rev 1.0, 2.0, and 3.3 boards, and ran a checksum test just to be absolutely sure. All exactly the same file.
I'll get this BIOS updated, and give the Theater 550 Pro another shot.
Update
New BIOS, new drivers, same problems. The Theater 550 Pro just doesn't get along with this motherboard.
Screenshot. That's what it looks like after about an hour of recording.
On the nForce2 system, 6 hours of record time, no corruption at all. Back to my PVR-150 and its old-style tuner. Good-bye to the 550's digital tuner-on-a-chip.
