Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3+Onboard Lan+Zonet Router+Vista=Problems?

So I am running a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 using the onboard lan, which is a Marvell Yukon ethernet adapter. I my apartment we are using a Zonet ZSR0104CP wired router to connect to the internet. Its a little old but it was free when we moved in and its worked okay thus far. We have had issues with it in the past, random connection drops especially on my roommates iMac, but nothing too bad.

Now a couple days ago I did the upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate x64. Since then I find myself having to reset the router at least 3 or 4 times a day, and reset the cable modem at least1 a day due to connection drops on my PC. My roommate's Mac is still getting connection drops, but not nearly as much as me. I am using the latest Lan drivers from Gigabyte. To me it sounds like the router isnt getting along with Vista, and since we have has problems in the past with it its time to replace it. However I was curious what other people think might be the issue. Thanks for any help.
 
You could try the drivers directly from Marvell.

There are some compatibility problems with some routers and Vista / IE7. You should look into support / firmware updates for your router (once Zonet's web site is up again...). Even if you get a new router, you should check to see if it works with Vista beforehand.

There are also some Vista configuration options which may be able to reduce the issues -- check Microsoft's site and elsewhere for this (even some older forum posts here).
 
I do not know specifically about your Router, but there are some indications that some Wireless Routers firmwares are Not compatible with Vista.

Since it is too early in ?game?, you probably would not find much info on the Internet about this issue. Best recourse is to contact the manufacturer.

Do not let the support tech. get away by blaming Vista. It is the manufacturers responsibly to check thier devices against the OS?. Vista RTM is already available to manufacturers for 4 months (pre RTM releases for much longer). It does Not take so long to rewrite firmware and drivers.

The incentive right now is to leave current Hardware as is and make the new Models Vista compatible.

In a marketing driven environment, by Not upgrading the old, the manufacturers save time and money, and force you to spend on buying new models.
