Im more excited about the P4S800D-E Deluxe. In the past Gigabyte ruled with there SINXP1394, Asus had the P4SDX then which wasent a good overclockar. Now its reverse.. Asus has the kickass sis mobo. I read somewhere that they have fixed the bios vcore thing also, should be intresting to see how high it can go. Apperantly its very fast at default speeds (perhaps the fastest p4 board?)

"Kelkoo!"

"Service is temporarily unavailable..."

The GA-8S655TX-ultra and the Asus P4S800D-E deluxe, are two boards that have been reviewed since last November and promised by manufacturers to be available in "late December"...

I have noticed 865PE boards have went down in price the past month. I'm talking about the IS7 at mwave particulary. It's at $86 now.

OK, Ajump.com apparently has the similar Asus board in stock. How do we get vendors to stock the giga-byte board? I have called Newegg and they are not really excited or interested to get this.

Newegg may not be getting these becuase they are looking ahead a couple of months. Has the 655tx been released 2 months ago then I think vendors would have felt that there was a sufficient market between the 478 socket and next version.

See the article titled Intel 2004 CPU/Chipset Roadmap Update on the home page of this site
"If you're going to buy a Pentium 4 soon we would recommend waiting until next quarter, you'll have a new socket and new chipsets to go along with it."

Yeah, a 655TX is probably only good for another 2 months or so. Although the new Intel CPUs come out in February, it will probably be late March before motherboards and CPUs are widely available, IMO.

Have you seen the Elitegrpup SP-2 Extreme? Has a lot of features, but not the reputation of Gigabyte.

Ask NFS4 about his recent ECS experiences. I'd wait for the ASUS board if I was shopping for a SiS 655TX.
