Hi,

I have recently upgraded my PC using the main components below:

Intel Pentium IV 2.4B GHz
Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra
512MB Mushkin PC2700 DDR RAM

I have 4 Maxtor hard drives connected to IDE3 and IDE4 and set up in BIOS to be used as ATA. A CD-ROM is also connected to IDE1 while a DVD-ROM and a CD-RW connects to IDE2. The hard drives are detected correctly by the onboard Promise controller during bootup.

However, whenever I tried to install WinXP Pro, it can't detect any of the above hard drives, thus not allowing Windows setup to continue.
I have tried pressing F6 to install the Promise WinXP drivers in a floppy (copied from the provided CD). But nothing happens when the message line 'Windows Setup is starting....' appears, just idles for hours.

Does anyone have the same problem or can someone please help me?

Thanx.

I just bought the board and have a similar problem when trying to install XP. The drivers on the disk are bad. Did you fix this problem? If so please share it with me.
