I am considering getting a Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra Motherboard. I have read some good things, and a lot of bad things. Of course you always see more posts about problems rather than the post that things are working well. I was just wondering if anyone has everything working well and correctly on the Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra.
I am most concerned with:
1. On Board Sound (I have heard of some problems))
2. Using more than one DIMM Bank Correctly
3. Have RAID working correctly
4. USB Ports working correctly
I am really leaning towards the Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra, due to the number of USB ports and the ability to use IDE RAID correctly with 2 RAID IDE Controllers (unlike the ASUS P4PE). The lack of Firewire isn?t a problem as I already have a PCI Card for that, and I am not planning on getting Serial ATA Drives right away.
I also heard that Leo Laporte on TechTV Screensavers just got an ASUS P4PE, and is liking it. Leo usually picks his components very well?which leaves me wondering if I should get the P4PE and just get an IDE RAID PCI Card for the Hard Drives.
