Gigabyte CA-8ITXR

I can't find any info or revies on this one.
But what I do like about this mobo, is integrated LAN (Realtek) and 6 (!) PCI slots vs 5 PCI slots on any other 850 motherboard
I don't really care for IDE Promise RAID onboard :)

If anyone can give some input, i would greatly appreciate that!

I like it better than my Asus P4T-E and you can setup the Raid ports as standard IDE ports which allows you to move your CDRW/DVD drvies to separate channels.

Actually, this model doesn't have USB 2.0 support nor does it have ATA/133 RAID, just ATA/100 RAID. The 8IRXP does have those.

There is nothing wrong with the board, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but I think that 850 is the way to go for the Pentium 4, and really I would rather get Abit TH7II-RAID but if u want the extra's (sound, USB 2.0 namely) than you might want to go it but if you only need RAID (Or don't need any of the features) then go Abit TH7II. It overclocks just as good as the best ocing 845-D board (Asus P4B266) .

For Athlon4all -- Re the above - The original question was regarding the Gigabyte GA-8ITXR which is an 850 Motherboard. The similar Gigabyte GA-8IRXP is the 845 Motherboard. My question is how does the GA-8ITXR 850 board stack up against the Abit TH7II-RAID 850 board? Specifics please as I am trying to decide between all three of these boards for my quantum upgrade leap from my current circa 1997 200Mhz Micron !! Cheers! :)

The Gigabyte board will not overclock to the same level as the Abit board but it will be close. I have found that both the Asus P4T-E and the Gigabyte board were more stable overtime than the Abit board. I dropped my Abit boards due to this reason and the fact that I never had issues with all (4) slots full of memory as I encountered with the Abit (it works but flakes out at various times). If you do not plan on overclocking then buy a Intel D850MVL board, great lan and sound included.

Whoops! Sorry! The feature list looked like 8IRX. My sorry, the 8ITXR should be great as long as it's a 6 layer board (you should be able to tell by weather it has 2 RIMM slots sideways to the other 2, which it doesn't)
