does anyone know anything about this MB, or if there are any decent reviews anywhere?
I'm really after just a basic, STABLE, cheap(ish) ddr socket A MB, but I'm not an expert so I need a bit of help.
Thanks

Welcome to the forums. There's so many people here that most questions are already out there several times.

It's helpful to all (including yourself) if you search for the answer before starting a new thread.

I would include a link for you, but can't seem to link to other threads here.

Anyway, search for Gigabyte and you'll find some (very little) info. At least what the rest of us know at this point.

I haven't read any reviews yet but from what I've read, Gigabyte makes a pretty good motherboard.

The GA-7VTXE has 3 memory socketss, 5 PCI slots, 2 USB on board and 2 USB by cable. It costs about $ 100.

The GA-7VTXH adds a CNR slot, LAN on board but isn't available yet. Cost unknown.

Link does not work... if it is a link to a search result you problably will not be able to get it to work either

JFRANK, all the versions are available now.. E & H are available on pricewatch, I bought H yesterday morning should be here by end of week. P is also available but I know of only one site that has it united micro and it has a terrible rep. I know of one person who has P (drove couple of blocks to store to buy it) and he seems to be happy with it.

thankyou rabid dragon.
omar888- i may be a new member here, but i am NOT new to forums in general, and i know perfectly well how to use them thankyouverymuch! I have already done the search you mentioned in every concievable form, otherwise I would not have bothered going to the trouble of creating a new email address (because I'm on yahoo), registering and asking the question.
please don't waste my time, I'm unfortunely in England and we don't get free internet connections easily!

sorry,
i was feeling hungry therefore short-tempered

i'm not even sure that mb's out in Britain yet

if anyone has any feedback on gigabyte boards in general that would be appreciated.
Apart from stability issues i am concerned about a mb with lots of jumpers- i've heard people whinge about them, but i assume if g-b do decent manuals with their mb i should be alright

I have a ga7vtx and a very good board it is too, the only problems I have had are that the cpu core is not adjustable and I had a problem getting 3 x 256mb sticks of memory working. The memory problem was my fault as I didnt check its vcore was set correctly (misread the dipswitch) and as such it was set to 2.9v causing the ram to overheat. Overall the board is a solid performer, not spectacular but so far I have had no crashes in the last month. Oh one last thing as good as the onboard sound is (and it really is quite good) it gets interupted easily by modems and other system hoggers.
