Gigabyte GA-7VTXE on board sound???

I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-7VTXE... which says it has on board sound so I presume this means an onboard sound card but I cannot get any sound at all. I've installed the proper drivers (which is Avance AC'97 btw) and also installed updated drivers and still no sound. I have got my speakers plugged into the correct line out and whenever I try to play anything it gives me an MMSYSTEM032 error message. Just no sound at all. Does anyone know if there is some kind of issue with this motherboard? Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

i have mine working perfectly (well, not perfectly, it is AC97)
did you install from the program on the CD or through windows?
