Hello guys,
I recently purchased the revision v1.1 of the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (which HAS a reset CMOS jumper, yay!) and i am deeply dissapointed that i couldnt make the CT5880 on it to work with 4 speakers.
I had till now a Gigabyte GA-7ZXR and i used 2 speakers on LINE OUT, and another 2 speakers on LINE IN, and all i had to do was to select QUADRAPHONIC speakers within my Windows 98/2000/XP Control panel.
NOW ... with the GA-7VRXP i just purchased, it no longer worked. I tried all drivers from the gigabyte website and still nothing.
I noticed that there is a set of pins on the board (named "F_PANEL") for a Front Audio Panel (Chasis option) and that, by default, the Rear left+right are linked by a jumper, and the Front Left+right are also linked by a jumper. Of course that if i take those jumpers off i would hear nothing on the line out.
Another problem i got was that, using the WDM drivers in Windows XP i didnt manage to make the MIDI work with the 8Mb Waveset file ... it simply ignores the setting i use and uses the 2Mb Waveset and my MIDIs sound like &!%#^ !
i had no problems of this kind with my old GA-7ZXR ...
My questions are.
1. is there ANYONE of you who has managed to make a second set of speakers work on the LINE IN ?? if yes, please tell me how.
2. does the 7VRXP supoprt this thing or i simply have to buy a front audio panel (or improvise a conector for those pins) ?
3. Did anyone had the MIDI issue also ?
Thanks
Bogdan
P.S. I can say that in the manual id DID NOT find anything about connecting speakers in the LINE IN jack ....
