hi:

here's the deal. built 2 machines a month ago (newegg) with the ga-7vrxp...absolutely no problems. I liked the mobo so much I traded in my epox 8kha+ for it. i built the machine last night and it seems that after I shut down the computer will not restart unless I put a jumper on the berg to clr the cmos (pins 1&2) and then put the jumper back on pins 2&3. I then have to re-enter everything back into cmos etc. she shuts down, restarts no problem. however, once you shutdown completely that power button is doa unless you do the jumper thing previouly mentioned.

I am using athon 2000+, samsung pc2700 ddr, enermax 340 p/s (all newegg). the mobo came with f4 bios and i updated to f6...absolutely no change. I did default settings, high perf. settings etc. that little switch is set to 133fsb and the mobo comes with no jumper on the cmos berg. however the book says the default is pins 2&3. i tried all different combos with a jumper on and off that berg. the other 5 block switch is set to default (first 4 off and #5 on). I guess I'm getting rma ready for newegg and may go with the msi ultra board. any help would be appreciated.

hi:

here's an update. I went to a complete vanilla system ie: I removed all pc cards except my radeon 7000 agp. When I put my Adaptec firewire afw-4300 card in thats when the problem arises. I tried all 5 pci slots 1 at a time and it boots the first time, i shutdown with the power button after 5 seconds and then the power button will not restart system . I have to clr the cmos then put the jumper back on pins 2&3 to get it to power up again.

my scsi adaptec and usr modem give me no such problems...what'd think????
