XP1900
GA-7VRX
BIOS version - F3
Corsair PC2700 512mb ram
Leadtek GF4400 TI 128mb

Basically my system sucks at the moment.
It's unstable especially during any 3D related applications.
Most games will freeze up or crash. Even windows will suddenly
just reboot itself sometimes. 3mark 2001 crashes.
I've updated all the drivers.
I have tried all sorts of bios settings.
The ram is rated at CAS 2, command rate of T1.
It's unstable even at the lower settings.

I'm at the stage where I think the mb or graphics card is faulty. I
will tests the graphics card on another system to check this. Then I'd
say it would be the board and I will attempt to take it back.
I've seen people mention power supply but I'd think 300W is more than
enough when using 3 ide devices.

I have not touched the voltage settings yet.
Anyone fixed a similar problem?
thanx

You might want to use the search feature. There are several threads regarding problems with this board.

I have the same board.

Try setting VCore higher in the BIOS. Currently, mine is at +7.5% using a geForce three. I anticipate having to go up to 10% when my gF4 gets here.

Keep in mind that this will produce higher temps...probably 4-8C deg rise.

If you do this, you should get less blue screen crashes, less pausing up in general. Gigabyte screwed up with their voltage regualtions, and they've admitted it.

Here is another good source of info...

I've noticed this GF4 + Vcore problem often here with the GA-7VRX(P). I'd like to get this board, but this is the only thing holding me back. Is this problem always fixable by upping the vcore, or are just some people lucky?
