Edit:
So, I went away for 3 days and decided to leave my computer off. Of course, while away fixing the in-law's computers, it dawns on me that I must switch my TT volcano 9 and my Slk900a so that my home box is whisper quiet. After swapping the hsf units I thought all was well.
The unit that I tried to put the slk900a on is listed in the topic. It has been a great MB for about 2 years or so. I got the no boot syndrome on first try. After trying that a few times, I set the FSB to default and tried again. I would get the post and the memory test but no boot and couldn't get beyond detecting ide drives.
Then, another series of non posts. I determined that the AGP fan was trying to move but not having much success. Perhaps the dust and dirt and the time off had convinced it to stop. I took a fan from an external HD enclosure and made the replacement and voila! Boot again!
Now I didn't notice that the processor (amd 2500 barton core) had pads similar to the ones on the slk900a. So, I figured I was getting to much heat to the processor, confirmed upon next boot and post when the bios says 84 degrees C. I let it cool, removed the hsf and the extra pads, reinstalled and then booted to my hearts content.
Now I'm back to 1.94 with a fsb of 334 or so.
The fan was the wierdest problem, anyone have that AGP cooler go out?
Just fyi for you gigabyte fans.
