It's available for around that price from several vendors with decent ResellerRatings, including GoogleGear ($114.49 shipped) and NewEgg ($117 shipped). Local deal looks good though. Any thoughts on whether it's worth the extra $30 for the "P" version with RAID?

I have built 6 systems here at work with that board. Monarch Computers, who is local to me, has the board for $108 as well. If I am not mistaken, the non-P version does not have the onboard RAID or firewire.

Great board! Highly recommended by me.

is is just me or is the Gigabyte KT400 7VAXP 8X AGP RAID DDR 400 (AMD) the best deal on the market right now if mobo shopping?

$108 for ddr400, usb2, firewire, raid, ata133, promise ata133 raid, 6-channel sound (digital out even), 10/100 LAN, and 8x AGP == seems really cheap. compare this to Soyo, MSI, Asus and there seems to be no competition for features & price.

or am i completely off my rocker?

edit: found this comment in a review: There is an additional bracket with optical and RCA digital out ports. If you want to connect it to a Dolby Digital decoder box, you can do it using a single optical cable or a digital mono cable. In addition to this you can find a SPDIF-In on the motherboard as well as standard CD and AUX inputs.

i was looking at the wrong board when i was refering to the onboard firewire

it has all you need onboard even ALL the memory card interfaces minus the control box to read it but in either case well worth the money
