Gigabyte Ga-7VAX everything is cool EXCEPT for the VIA V-Link architecture which is only 266 MB for this board whereas it's brother the Ga-7VAXP has the VIA 8X V-Link architecture (533MB/s). Why did they shortchange the Ga-7VAX or is this statistic a misprint?

I believe that is a typo. The VIA website says that the chipset uses the 533MB/s architecture. Out. Peace.

All KT400 boards use the 8x V-Link with the 533mb/s of bandwith. It's sort of a moot point since there is no tangible performance increase over the older 4X 266mb/s V-Link. The KT333 board with the 8235 SB also have the 8X V-Link.
