Gigabyte ga-7nnxp southbridge fan not spinning???

Hi

Anyone have any ideas whether the southbridge ("Chipset") fan should always be spinning or not on a GigaByte GA-7NNXP mobo? ( beauty of a motherboard BTW!)
The fan is not running at all, and the heatsink is "lukewarm". Does the mobo maybe switch the fan off if it is not needed? (I have checked the connections and in bios)

Many Thanks

Steve

Hi stephent1010, and welcome to the forums. 🙂

I think you mean northbridge, and as far as I know the MB doesn't control
that fan. It should run when power is on.

I remember reading about these fans dying on various gigabyte boards.
There are replacement chipset coolers available. Take a look here.

I also got a new ga-7nnxp and I need some help.
I got everything installed but when I boot up I don't hear bios beeps and nothing show up onscreen
Thanks for your help.
