Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4: HT Link Freq?

I was under the impression that these boards could run at 2.6, but every time I set it that way, the system locks up and I have to reset the CMOS. And on this board, resetting the CMOS is a real PITA cuz the jumper is under the graphics card.

Are there a few rules about HT link freq, Ram, and northbridge timings that have to be set a certain way? I can't seem to get my 965 over 3.6gHz stable, and that's not even close to the amazing speeds others are boasting.

Help plz.
