I'm struggling big time with installing a hercules prophet 3d ddr board onto a gigabyte ga6bxc mainboard. I know the video card works fine since i had it in my other machine for almost a year and it had no problems. Right now i have a tnt2 on the system and it works with no problem. But when i try using the prophet in it, it freezes up on me during gameplay and i tried everything to resolve this. I tried many different drivers for the card and its not sharing any irq's so i'm really stumped. I checked gigabyte's site for any bios updates that would be useful but i found nothing. I'd really appreciate it if somebody can help me out with this, i've spent plenty of hours already and feeling its hopless.

Right now i have a 250w ps along with 1 hd, 1 cdrom and controller card, 2 nic cards and a mx300 sound card and a few fans

There are some issues regarding the power requirements of some Nividea boards and the inability of some motherboards to supply it.

Did you upgrade from a different video card? The only way to be 100% sure that a new video card will give no problems is a fresh format and reinstallation of the OS....I know, you didn't want to hear that..:(
